Requirements for Entering Canada
- US citizens entering Canada from the US by
ground - a valid US passport OR proof of US citizenship plus photo
ID (eg a birth certificate and driver's license).
- US citizens entering Canada from the US by
air - a valid passport is required.
- US citizens entering Canada from a third country - a valid passport
is required.
- A visa is not required for US citizens for
a stay up to 180 days.
- Citizens of any country other than Canada or
the US - a valid passport is required.
- Canadian citizens entering Canada- a valid
Canadian passport OR proof of Canadian citizenship plus photo
ID (eg a birth certificate and driver's license).
- Anyone with a criminal record (including
a DWI charge) should contact the Canadian Embassy or nearest Canadian
consulate before travel.

Coverage
Good medical care is widely available in Canada.
The Canadian health care system is run separately in each province
and is funded by Canadian taxpayer money. Tourists and temporary
visitors DO NOT QUALIFY for this health care plan and should have
their own insurance to cover any medical expenses.
